Streaming quality based on sound device

It would be great an way to fix steaming audio quality for a given audio device rather than type of Internet connection. Most cases there is no point streaming more than normal quality for smartphone built-in speaker reproduction or simple Bluetooth car device, so streaming extreme quality for those devices is wasting 3g/Wi-Fi data limit or bandwidth. On the other hand, playing audio through a high-res headphone or receiver would be desirable to fix the streaming quality to extreme, disregarding the type of the Internet connection. Would it be feasible? If so, it would a nice and exclusive feature among the concurrence.
