topic Bad sound quality compared to windows version? in Android

I use spotify premium for all my audio.
At this moment I have a win8.1 htpc and my new bought minix x8-h plus (android box) next to each other so I can compare performances.

I noticed when I play spotify music on the minix (spdif passthrough to my denon av receiver) the quality is 'muffled' (it's not as crisp, clear and little lower volume) compared to the same song played through spotify on the Windows htpc. I've set everything to extreme quality, don't use equalizer and minix/spotify volume is on the max.

If I play local music files (mp3 and flac) on the minix, it does sound about the same quality as on my Windows htpc. So it's not the android minix box. It's definitely the Spotify android app! The sound quality is absolutely not as good as on the spotify Windows 'app'

What's wrong?

I use version 2.8.0.1081

Please try a clean install of the Android App first. If that doesn't work can you try manually installing the 2.6 Spotify app (you can grab it using the link in my signature) onto your Android box?
