Downloaded songs not playing

I've got an issue with songs I've downloaded not playing at all. They have the green arrow showing they should've downloaded correctly but when I try to play them nothing happens.

I've cleared the cache and redownloaded all the songs but no improvements.

Any one who can help?

Usually a clean install is the first step to take and resolves most of the usual issues; the guide details the steps to take to ensure a full 'clean installation' is achieved - This includes checking redundant folders and a REBOOT!

Hi Daniel,

I've re-installed Spotify and made sure all necessary files were also removed. Unfortunately the problem still persists. Songs will play when connected to WiFi, but despite being downloaded won't play when in offline mode.

What device and OS version are you using? Can you also confirm the Spotify app version as well please?

Does your device have an SD card... it could be that it's corrupt. Try putting it into a PC and running chkdsk to check for errors.

Android version 5.0.2 on HTC One
Spotify version 2.8.01081

No SD card.

Are these files you've synced from your pc or offline tracks from the Spotify server?

OK. I wonder if support can clear your cache on the server. Let me escalate this thread to the staff and see what they can do.

In fact before I do that; can you confirm you don't have any cache cleaning apps such as Clean Master installed?

HI, just been asked to get you to contact Spotify Support using the form here.

You will get an automated reply at first, however if you need to chase them just reply to the email as it does get monitored.

Hi,

Did you find a solution to your issue as i am having the same problem and tried with Spotify to resolve but with no luck!? I'm on Android 5.0.1 too.

Any info would be helpful?

In the end they deleted my account and started me up with a new one with
all the data transferred (so for me nothing changed). Still don't know what
caused it.
