Spotify shows always the album artwork to the current track on my lock screen. Can I somehow turn it of? I want to keep my usual android lockscreen.

There is no easy way to disable this I'm afraid, it's actually part of Android and was a feature introduced in KitKat.

You might be able to find a lock screen app in the Play Store to use which would allow you to not have the artwork displayed.

I have the opposite problem - my phone doesn't show the album artwork at all, and the widget on the lockscreen (for skipping songs etc) stays on the first song I play, doesn't update to new songs, any ideas on a fix?

settings -> sound & notification -> app notification -> spotify -> block

works on latest lollipop build

I use a podcast app which has the option to disable showing album art on the lockscreen while playing audio -- surely a product like Spotify, with a bigger dev team, could handle it. The podcast player is called Podcast Republic if they want to ask them how they did it.

Block all notifications to disable album artwork and widget on lock screen

Unblock it to enable

I use the "Block" Feature but when I open an app that has sound it shuts off, is there any way to fix this?
