Hi,

how do I know whether the updated firmware has been applied to my 1st gen Chromecast so that I can start casting from my phone?

I believe the support has been rolled out to the latest gen Chromecast devices but I am not sure about those of us with a 1st gen device.

The firmware for the first generation chromecast has not rolled out yet. I would expect to see news of the update going out when it does.

2nd Gen Chromecasts are already supported.

For people with the first generation Chromecast, the firmware update is now rolling out. Try restarting your Chromecast to get Spotify support.
