Hello,

I'm using spotify on android 5.1.1 with an xperia Z3 compact.

And, I think, when I use spotify, I use too much data. For exemple, when I listen a song wich is 4minutes, I use 16mo of data.

For me, it's not normal, because I listen in normal quality, and 16mo only for one song it's too much right ?

What do you think about it ?

Thanks.

Hi there.

I understand you have problems with Data usage.

When your data plan is capped, you need to reduce usage to minimum. If you don't have Premium, then you can't use Offline option. Offline works this way: once streamed, never again.

96 kbps => 0.72 MB per minute.
160 kbps => 1.2 MB per minute.
320 kbps => 2.4 MB per minute.

So 4 minute track is about 4.8 MB in 160 kbps or 9.6 MB in 20 kbps. So your app is suing too much data.

Try to reinstall it. This might help.

Kind regards.

Jyrziu xd

I reinstalled it.

The first song I tried was 2min41sec, and I used 10mo. Then, for a 3min25sec song, I used 16mo, then for 4min10sec, 40mo.

I don't undertand why. I'm not premium, I put the quality in normal.

Maybe because I'm in 4g ? It use so much data.
