Hey there ,

I'm abroad for some time now , I don't have access to play store using my US google account.

I used to always go to m.spotify.com and download the latest apk .

but now , for some reason this is no longer working.

is there another way to download the latest apk?

Try using a vpn app such as tunnel bear so that your device accesses the store for the country you registered in.

If you set the vpn to exit in the United States than your phone will believe you are in that country and therefore would be able to update the app

no if my google account is not registered in a country spotify is enabled in.

Which country are you in at the moment? How come you can't update the app natively?

hey ,

right now I"m in Israel.

my current google account user is also registered in Israel.

so basically when I search for spotify in play store it won't even popup as a result.

Ok. So Spotify isn't currently available in your country which is why you cannot access it through the play store. Are you a premium user? Spotify recent stopped hosting the app on its own servers, the official places you can get it are the Google play store or amazon app store, although there are plenty of unofficial sites housing the app. It's just not recommend to install from these sites.

well , yes I know that spotify is not available in Israel and yes I'm a premium user.
I've noticed they have stopped hosting the app on their servers and this is exactly what I'm trying to figure - why?
and is there a way spotify will continue hosting it so I and users like me can update the app on a regular basis.

I can't answer that question I'm afraid. I agree it is annoying that Spotify no longer host it; but I do understand why they have restricted the app to only be available to the markets the service is available to.

You may have to find an alternative way of keeping the app updated.
