Chromecast - Failed to Log In

Hi,

I have just bought a Chromecast which I am pairing with my android device. Connecting is easy; the first time I tried it worked I was playing music on my TV, but every other time since then I get the error "Log In Failed".

What is wrong? Is the service down?

I have done a factory reset on the chromecast and I still get the same issue.

can you try logging out of the app then back in again?

Same issue here on when casting to chromecast, i tried logging in and out to no avail, this is a really annoying issue as i exclusively use spotify via chromecast

This doesn't work. My housemate's spotify also does not work - same error. 😞

I'm having the same problem - tried rebooting phone, chromecast, logging out of all devices, resetting facebook/twitter connections - anything I could think of in terms of having a login function - and it just. doesn't. work.

On a side note the main 'help' page says this:

We're currently investigating some issues with users who are unable to log in or play music using Chromecast.

Seems like that's a server issue. Hold on and hopefully the will be a fix soon.

I have Chromecast v2. I can cast every other castable app without issue. The only one that I can't get to work is Spotify. The problem is obviously on their end. Not impressed that this can be left broken for so long.

I was able to fix this by playing a playlist then connecting to the chromecast. It wasn't working for me when I tried to play a song from my library then connecting to chromcast.

I had this exact issue. No prior issues with casting Spotify until this last week. Seems the issue for me was directly related to playing from Your Daily Mix. As soon as I cast a playlist, it went through just fine. Right after, I was able to swap to the Daily Mix.
