Chromecast audio keeps stopping

Until a few weeks ago I was loving using Spotify via Chromecast audio. But an update some point seems to have ruined it. If one scrolls through a couple of songs it shows as playing but no sound. Often have to then stop casting via the Chromecast app in order for Spotify to release it properly so I can listen again. I've reset Chromecast Audio and my router with no effect. Am running Android 6.0.1 on Nexus 6P

Please read the guide linked below for details on the most common issues and how to fix them. Usually a clean install is the first step to take and resolves most of the usual issues; the guide details the steps to take to ensure a full 'clean installation' is achieved - This includes checking redundant folders and a REBOOT!

Clean install? For non functioning Spotify ? That's a ludicrous suggestion
