topic Cell service...... in Android

So this is probably a stupid question, but I don't claim to be tech savvy. I'm going on a trip this weekend, into mountains where there is no cell service. Can I still access my Playlist and listen to it under these circumstances? I'm not quite sure I understand what play "offline" means....I am assuming it's when you have cell service, but not WiFi. Help?
