Downloaded songs not available

Last night I downloaded 3 play lists to my Android phone (Samsung Note 2). All ended up with the green arrow next to them and I happily played a list on the way home without internet connectivity. I got home and started to play the songs, and then stopped and exited the application. I have no internet available at home either. An hour or so later I turned back on and switched 3 songs from one list to another. Then I attempted

to play a couple of other songs - the ones I had happily played earlier - again to my wife, to be told that none of the songs are available. ALL the green arrows have disappeared although all song titles are still present. Does anyone have any answers to this?

If you edited the playlist, some songs are removed of download.

G'day Toadtoad, thanks for that answer. I have wondered whether editing the
song list did it, but it seemed strange that the whole playlist would become
"undownloaded" so to speak.
