Why is Spotify using so much data?

I'm having the same problem. It shouldn't consume that much data. Sometimes, I play only for less than an hour, and it would take about 300+MB from my data. this is unacceptable.

Same here. It's used 700mb of data in a week and I have used spotify for over a year. It diesnt usually do this. I have download over celular off and I have it set to normal quality. Something has changed
