My spotify doesnt like Android TV

Hello I have just got an Android TV box and of course first thing was to put my spotify on there BUT if I add it to the actual box the app opens sideways ( see attachment). Also if I add it to Kodi then I only get 30 secs of any tune and then it switches to the next one... so I'm slightly stumped and would appreciate any help at all

Hi. Did you download Spotify from the Android TV apps store as explained in this FAQ? No idea about Kodi - that's somewhat outside the sphere of this community.
