Google Cast support is now completely broken

First I had the issue that Spotify randomly paused while streaming to my Google Cast Audio. I discovered this mostly occurred when you skip back and forth through the track, as if the Spotify app 'forgets' to refill the Google Cast audio buffer or something. So I let Spotify just play the track from beginning to end and that seemed to solve things a bit.

But as of today, I cannot get Spotify to connect to my Google Cast Audio at all. It is completely broken out of a sudden. The Spotify app tries to connect, I get the 'connecting' sound, but nothing happens. No connection.

Other Android apps connect just fine and play sound. It works with my Windows laptop and my Chromebook. Only Spotify doesn't work anymore. Force close and restarting the app also doesn't help.

I have checked all the requirements:

You have the latest firmware installed on your Chromecast device.

Your device is connected to the same WiFi network as your Chromecast.

You’re using the app in a country where Spotify is available.

You have the latest version of Spotify installed.

Spotify devs, please fix this. The main reason I have Premium is that is has Chromecast support, but I will cancel my subscription if this isn't going to be fixed soon.
