Spotify Plays Over Phone Calls

I'm having an issue where Spotify doesn't pause music playing during phone calls. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+. I don't see any option for this in settings and other audio apps behave correctly.

I have the same phone and the same problem. I also have some problems with spotify not pausing the music when I unplugg my headset.

I am having the same issue with my LG V10. I am going to have to not use Spotify until this is fixed as I get calls from my clients on my cell.

Hello, same here with Moto G 3rd gen. Spotify won't stop when I unplug my headphones or when I get a phone call ...

I have the same problem with my Nexus 4 and with my Moto e 2nd generation, both running android 5.1.1. This started a few days ago.

+1 on this on Samsung Galaxy S6

Headphones pulled out, carries on playing.

Phone call, carries on playing.

Also, conversely, playback is interupted by pretty much any other app or system notification sound.

I also have this problem with Droid Turbo 2. Super unsafe when I have to pick up my phone while driving in order to pause playback after answering a call with hands free.

Same here. I have an ASUS Zenfone 6...

I had an Iphone 4s and this never happened...

Have you checked spotify permissions?

Android settings > applications > application manager

Scroll down and tap "spotify"

Tap "permissions"

Toggle on:

Contacts
Storage
Telephone

(If you don't see all of these, you may need to tap "more" at the top right.)

Unfortunately I do not have any toggles nor see Contacts Storage Telephone
or more. 😞

Same problem here on Xperia z5 premium. Just plays over all calls, really annoying. Had this before a while back and they sorted it, why is it back? I've reinstalled Spotify and rebuilt phone so has to be a software bug. Come on Spotify sort this out ASAP!

Ps. my wife has exactly same issue on galaxy s6.

Same here on Moto Z... Previously I had a Moto X Play and it has the same problem... Really annoying.

Is there a way Spotify can be notified about this, I believe most of the newest Android phones has the same bug

I did finally get a response from a human at Spotify.. he had me reinstall
and so far it's working *knock on wood*. Hopefully they work out this bug
in the form of a toggle switch to turn it off & on.
