topic Conflicting data storage setting? in Android

My settings from Spotify say data is stored on SD card yet Android says it is filling up internal storage.

From settings, storage on Android it tells me Spotify is taking up almost 6GB of space and gives me the option to clear the data, removing my downloaded songs.

Is there a way to make Android and Spotify say the same thing/recognise where the data is. Android is running out of space and needs to clear the phantom data somehow?

Thanks

I appear to have asked a question already asked, although not answered unfortunately.

Here is a thread with better explanations than my own:

https://community.spotify.com/t5/Android/Spotify-or-Android-Duplicate-Offline-storage-Internal-amp-SD/td-p/1403778

Yeah, I also reported it in the bugs section but gave up when they started with the ridiculous suggestions rather than just trying it for themselves. Feel free to resurrect that topic. As I think you realise, spotify isn't saving to both locations as a file manager will confirm but it is confusing.
