Messages Not Working Right

Hello,
My girlfriend and I use Spotify's messaging system in order to communicate. I woke up this morning to see my 'messages' button gone, and I was unabled to send any message to a recipient. I am very frustrated by this, and I'd appreciate any help I can get from Spotify's community.
