Android Spotify app offline playlists counting double: SD card AND internal storage.

Hi,

The Spotify app on my Android phone (Wileyfox Swift, Cyanogen Mod 12) is doing something very odd. Here's the problem:

I have 16Gb internal storage and a 32Gb external SD card, so naturally I want my offlione playlists on the SD card
The app is configured that way and indeed the playlists are stored where I want them
BUT
The amount of space occupied by them is also taken of my available internal storage.
Take a look at this gallery of screenshots . They show that: Spotify is set to use the external SD, that the app data is occuping 1.3Gb of space on the ext SD. They also show that my phone thinks Spotify is taking up 1.3/1.4Gb of space on internal storage, yet that the com.spotify.music folder on internal storage is empty.

Things I've tried:

Delete data and reinstall the app. SD card space is recovered, internal space is not!
The only way I can get back the 'phantom' occupied space is to do a factory reset

Very annoying! Any ideas appreciated.

Hey,

I'm sorry to hear that.

I'm not a professional but I think there might be two options.

1. The Android UI shows not only your internal storage but the sd cards storage too. So this is just a small bug and everything is fine with your phones storage.

2. You can try a clean reinstall:

Go to System Settings.
Go to "Apps".
Select the Spotify app.
On Spotify's page, first, tap "Force Close".
Then tap "Clear cache" if it's not greyed out.
Then tap "Uninstall" and remove the app.
After uninstalling, power off your device.
If you can, remove the battery now. Power back on.
Using a file manager on your phone go to Internal Storage > Android > Data and delete a folder called com.spotify.mobile.android.ui
Reinstall Spotify from Google Play.
