The 30 day limit is device specific I'm afraid. Sending a pre-loaded ipod sounds good though.

So I have a very special situation I'm looking for help about. So my question and situation is that I have a family member who is in the navy and would love to have his Spotify with him on the boat, this is challenging because they have no internet access and all phones have to be in airplane mode at all times. So my question is can I log into his Spotify account and download the songs for listening offline and save it to micro SD, then send him the card and he puts it in his phone and is able to listen to the offline downloaded songs? Or is there another way that is more user friendly to get him his Spotify music manually? Thanks

Spotify content can not be transferred between devices using storage media for copyright reasons. The only option would be for your family member to download music when internet access becomes available. There is another restriction which could be a problem which is Spotify's requirement that users go online at least every 30 days or they will lose access to their downloaded music.

Sorry about the bad news.

So another idea I did have was to download his music on say a iPod touch or something and ship him the whole device, then when he was done enjoying it he would send it back and we would load some new music on it. So if he does stay offline for over 30 days at a time could I login from here and keep him from losing access to what he has? Is there a timer on the device once you download, how does that work?
