Spotify App crashes immediately when playing music

Hey guys,

today I unpacked my brand new HTC U11 (Android 7.1.1) and installed the Spotify app on the virgin device.

Software Version: 8.4.9.249 armV7

I have Spotify Premium.

I can start the app, I can change settings, I can download things, but I cannot play anything, because the app crashes after about 1 sec. of music playback. Every time.

I have already de-installed, cleared cache etc. and performed a clean re-install, but to no avail. I have already tried using various music quality settings as well. I need help urgently, please. Thanks!

Have the exact problem, Galaxy S7 Edge running latest official June Android 7.0 software update.
