how to setup for wifi only

I have samsung s7 edge, have noticed once the wifi stopped during listening its continue sometimes on the cellular, sometimes not, how come? how I can 100% prevent spotify from using the cellular data. I want spotify to work only on wifi.

There's no setting for this in spotify so there are only two ways to prevent spotify streaming over cellular.

Download the music you want to listen to then use spotify in offline mode.
Turn off mobile data in your android settings.

Hi Joe, thank you very much for your quick reply.

I couldn't believe Spotify do not provide any solution to this wifi/cellular
issue, which can be very costly to some customers due to high data
consumption.

Do you think Spotify is going to fix this issue soon?

This is not a very satisfactory solution. First, you have to remember to go back into online mode -- with the same clumsy sequence of swipes and clicks -- when you are connected by wifi. Second, even when using cellular data, you want to access some features of the app, e.g., info about the artist, similar songs and artists, etc. You don't want to disable all connectivity, just the streaming function. The app already has this capability for downloading, how hard can it be to add it for streaming?
