Spotify slowing the phone

The app seems to be much slower, and I mean MUCH slower now when I ran out of premium, while I had premium, it was smooth even though I had multiple Gb of music
But the instant my premium ended, the app became very slow and has crashed my device multiple times

Also I noticed it fails to get search results if I have my PS4 powered on for the first few attempts as "something went wrong"

I think this is intentional as it has been like this for a long time, someone prove me wrong, and tell how to make it smooth again without paying

PS: I can live with it, it's just annoying
