I currently have a 2016 Ford Escape Titanium with a Google Pixel XL (Android 8.0.0) and all associated apps are fully up to date. Lately, I notice that my music will randomly skip. For about 1-2 seconds the song will continue on the screen but I don't hear audio. Then after a few songs, the audio goes completely mute but still show the song is still going on.

I tested to see if it's just Spotify by playing Spotify through my phone speaker away from my car and it plays fine. Wondering if it might be the cable, my type c port on my phone, or my car USB. Anyone else have the same issue?

(Also have my Spotify connected to my Amazon Echo, don't think that matters but I figured I'd give all information possible.)

Do you have any equalizer settings set?

If not, try it again with a different cable and check the jack on your phone.
