I haven't been able to narrow down a solution yet, but I do blame Spotify
for it. All other apps (Pandora, NPR One, Google Play Music) work fine. I
can't see how it isn't a Spotify issue.

In my case, I tried paying a little more attention when the issue pops up.
The last time it happened, I was able to get it to work again by restarting
my phone (I previously mentioned that restarting wasn't a valid fix, but I
was wrong about that). That's still a pretty annoying solution though.

Also, I did have Spotify recently drop my connection while it was playing
something (similar to what you mentioned). This only happened to me once,
most of the time if I get the connection made it will work as long as I
leave it connected.

I like Spotify otherwise, I think this is going to be a deal breaker for
me, though. I'm considering trying out Deezer to see how well it works
with my CCA's.

We subscribe to Spotify premium largely because we have a whole home audio setup with 6 Chromecast audio devices. I'm able to connect to those devices with all the other apps on my phone, but for some reason Spotify will not find them (this occurs nearly every time I use Spotify now). Restarting the phone, the router, and the CCA's does not resolve it. If I force stop the app and clear all data, it will work great again, finding all of my CCA's without a problem (until I try to use it the next day). This is an annoying workaround, as I lose all my downloaded content every time I clear all the app data.

I've worked around this by casting my entire phone to the CCA's, but this also gets annoying because if I walk too far from my router, music cuts out.

Like I said, all other apps, and other devices seem to work fine. I have a Pixel XL. Any thoughts?

Similar Problem here.

Google Pixel, newes Version of Spotify and Google Home (and Android Oreo), and Spotify complete looses my 2 chromecast Audio WHILE streaming Music to them.

In less then 10 Minutes. It's completely broken.

Restarting the spotify App solves the problem most of the times - for 10 Minutes or less.

I don't know who is to blame here - Google Home, Android Oreo or Spotify. The problem occured about a month ago. Before it worked like a charm.
