Spotify using cellular data when turned off in settings

I always have cellular data turned off for spotify but I've noticed that if the song is already playing and my wifi connection goes down or out of range it starts using the cellular data and it has been eating up my data plan. Any ideas?

I have had the same issue- thought I was going mad!! Anyone know how this can happen??

This has just started happening for me as well. I keep downloads off for cellular and in iOS setting turned off spotify access. However for the last few days it has still be using my cellular connection.
