Back button not working thru iPod USB connector

My Question or Issue

Our car (Honda Jazz/Fit 2011) has an USB "iPod" connector which we can control thru buttons on the dashboard. There are button to go back, forward, play/pause change the volume. Everything works in Spotify, except for the back button: Spotify actually skips to the next song.

Because the back button does work in other iOS music apps, such as Apple Music and a homegrown MPMediaPlayer-based app, this seems to be a bug in Spotify's iOS app. Is there a known workaround and what is the best way to report this issues (and get it fixed?)?
