Apple Watch App Not Connecting to iOS Phone App

My Apple Watch Spotify app will not connect to my phone. It just has my watch’s name listed but no controls with Spotify. I’ve reinstalled and uninstalled the app on my phone and the watch multiple times with no change. I’ve ran all updates on the watch, phone and the app and still nothing. I’ve made sure it’s connected to Bluetooth and WiFi and still nothing.

I have no clue why this will not work. Can anyone help?

Can you explain in more detail what you mean by the Spotify Apple Watch app just shows your watch's name? What does it look like?

When you open up the Spotify Apple Watch app it should look similar to this:

Finally now working. Restore my phone to scratch as a "New Phone" and reset the Apple watch with both running the latest OS.
