topic Why does shuffle privilege certain songs? in iOS (iPhone, iPad)

Whenever I use the shuffle feature on any device (iphone, ipad, macbook) it will keep playing certain songs from a large (700+) playlist over and over and there are other songs in there that I forgot I had because shuffle literally never plays them. I will hear the same song twice in two hours of playing shuffle, and certain songs day after day after day each time I hit shuffle play. Why does this happen, and is there anything I (or Spotify) can do to fix it?

Hey @donmarquito,

Thanks for reaching out to us about this.

Could you try the following steps and see if that changes anything:

Make sure that Shuffle isn’t enabled.

Go to any playlist and click Play.

Whilst playing, go to your Queue.

Click Shuffle on and off. Each time, check for any true duplicates or similar combinations.

If you can’t find any duplicates or similar combinations of tracks lining up in the queue, the Shuffle function is performing normally.

Let us know how you get on! We'll be here in case you need any further help 🙂
