I don’t understand why this isn’t an option yet, I want to be able to run without having to carry my phone. Why isn’t this an option?

I understand your concern. I'm afraid this isn't available at the moment, but I can see how it can be useful. You can create a new Idea about this here if this is something you'd like to see in the future.

Spotify on Apple Watch serves basically as a remote for the Spotify app on iPhone. There is more information about the features for Spotify on Apple Watch here.

If Spotify doesn’t address this by the end of summer I am going to make the switch to apple music. Really hope they do i want my steaming business to be with Spotify but not enough to keep missing out on my apple watch.
