My Question or Issue

I’m trying stream my playlist using data but Spotify is failing to find my wireless headphones. Work fine with Apple Music and are showing as connected in the Watch settings.

Can Spotify play music direct to Apple Watch over data to wireless headphones?

I’ve tried searching for the answer but getting old threads which aren’t relevant.

I'll be happy to help.

The Spotify app on your Apple Watch basically serves as a remote when playing music on your iPhone. You can't play music on Spotify directly from your Apple Watch, and you will need the iPhone near you in order to use the Spotify app on your Watch, and control what's playing (so you can use your device's mobile data).

If your Spotify is having trouble connecting to your wireless headphones through your iPhone, can you let me know what wireless headphones this happens to, and try restarting the device?

If that doesn't work, let me know what iPhone model you have, as well iOS version. You can find this by going to Settings > General > About.

Spotify is the only major music provider that doesn't have LTE streaming over Apple Watch which sucks. Pandora has had it two years! Apple music the same.
