Unable to download podcasts with video

My Question or Issue

Downloading music, or audio only podcasts works fine, but whenever I try to download a podcast that has video, tapping the download icon does nothing. I'm on spotify version 8.5.28.1046 which is currently the newest available on iOS 10. I tried restarting my phone and reinstalling spotify but nothing changed.

On a side note: Is there a way to download only the audio part of video podcasts? I would greatly appreciate it.

Good job on checking first whether or not a reinstall solves the issue, in most such cases it does. However, could give it another go with these steps and run a clean reinstall? These ones are more thorough - they make sure that you're running the latest app version and that no corrupted leftover files from previous installations remain.

If that doesn't fix things, could you try downloading the podcasts with a different network - mobile hotspot or wifi? It would be great if you could also borrow a friend or family members account and see if they download properly there.

Note that we've recently introduced the option to download only the audio with podcasts. It's available in the settings menu under the Data Saver section. If you don't see it, please attach a screenshot of your settings menu as well as the exact Spotify version you have running.
