Apple Watch cannot control Spotify volume when using Sonos

My Question or Issue

I use Spotify app both on iPhone and on Apple Watch. When I play songs in Spotify app on iPhone through Sonos, the Spotify app on Apple Watch cannot control the volume, i.e., scrolling up or down the crown on Apple Watch does not change the volume on Sonos.

There is no such issue when Sonos is disconnected, i.e., when I play songs in Spotify app on iPhone through AirPods or other bluetooth speakers, the Spotify app on Apple Watch can control the volume, i.e., scrolling up or down the crown on Apple Watch changes the volume on bluetooth speakers.

The question is how to use the crown on Apple Watch to control Spotify volume when using Sonos.

Can you perform a clean reinstall of the app? This will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.

Also - can you double-check that you have the latest update of Sonos?
