“Hey Spotify” feature causes Spotify audio to play as a phone call

I believe there is a bug with the “Hey Spotify” feature and Apple CarPlay that causes the audio to play as a phone call when I connect my phone and the music starts playing. After disconnecting my phone and reconnecting it, the audio will come through the regular car audio correctly.

I had this issue before and I deleted the app using the method linked in another ticket and everything worked fine. I enabled the Hey Spotify feature last night and it started acting up again today. The only change was that I enabled the “Hey Spotify” feature.

Could you give these steps a go and run a clean reinstall? This one is more thorough than the usual one.

If possible, we'd suggest you also try with another account to see if that makes a difference.

If nothing changes, could you share with us a video recording of what's happening when you try playing music? We'll look into this further.
