Local files not syncing to iPhone

my issue

I am trying to sync local file songs from my computer to my iPhone. i try pressing the download button on my phone, it says the playlist is downloaded but there's no download icon beside the song, and it's greyed out and I cannot play it.

- I updated my iPhone to the latest iOS

- there are no updates for my computer (windows 10)

- I have done the "allow an app through.." thing with spotify.exe

- I have logged out and in of my account on both devices

- I have tried on a hot spot I created with my phone

- I have connected the two devices with a USB cable

- I have deleted and reinstalled the app on my iphone

- I have tried removing the local file on my computer and readding it

- the other person on the duo subscription does not have any local files

- i only have one local file I'm trying to sync to my phone

any help would be greatly appreciated as this is extremely frustrating.

im having the same issue but some of my local files are able to play on my iphone but the newer ones i added dont play.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community.

Just to confirm, have you tried a clean reinstall of the Spotify app on your device? We recommend the steps in that guide, as they’re very thorough and make sure no damaged leftover files remain.

You should also remove all playlists with imported files and start the whole process from scratch using the instructions in this guide. We also recommend moving the local files to another folder on your desktop.

@ElliottIsAPerson if you haven't tried it already, it's a good idea this time to do it over another internet connection, e.g. a mobile hotspot, if that's an option.
