In the new version (app version 0.6.0.181). There is a bug where the currently playing tab will minimize and the bottom bar will disappear until you restart the app. The bug appears if you are playing a playlist with only 1 song on it and then queue songs from another playlist. If you then press "next song" or swipe to go to the next song, the now playing tab will minimize and the bottom bar will completely disappear. This makes it so you can't pause songs or change to next/previous song.

What iphone model do you have? This bug hasn't affected me.

I have the iPhone 4s with iOS 6.1.2. Seems to happen on both Wi-If and 3g
