Apple Homekit compatability

Hey,

I am bit confused, is Spotify supported on Homekit devices like Homepod mini?

There was an announcement that apple opened up to third party services but no news about spotify making it happen.

But I mean on the level when you can ask Siri to play something and it does without the need of setting it up manually on my phone.

Would really appreciate if you have anything to share 😀

We're sorry that you still can't stream music on devices like HomePod mini using Spotify, however, we recommend having a look at this Live Idea suggesting the implementation of this feature.

You can support the idea by adding your +VOTE and clicking on Subscribe in the three-dots menu at the top right corner next to the title. That'll make sure you stay up-to-date with any relevant updates about this. It’s also worth knowing that the higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for the idea to be implemented.

Spotify always takes new ideas and feedback into consideration to improve the app. Here you can read more about how ideas work.

Hi this thread is nearly three years old and it seems this there has been no progress. Amazon’s Echo devices are progressively getting worse and I’m seriously considering switching to HomePods. I don’t really want to switch to Apple Music.
