My Question or Issue

spotify plays the wrong song when I try to play certain songs on mix playlists that I usually can choose what songs play and plays the wrong songs on normal shuffled playlists. When I try to play songs on mix playlists it will either play a random song or not change song at all. When I delete and redownload the app it is fixed for a couple hours before breaking again.

Can you clarify if one song is playing, but wrong data (Title/ Artist) is displayed in the Now Playing View?

Also do you mean the Daily Mix playlists or something else.

i mean the daily mix playlists, yes. when i click on a song sometimes an entirely different song will appear in the now playing view, sometimes nothing will happen, and sometimes it will stop whatever song is playing and then crash spotify if i try to click on a song in the mix. occasionally the first two problems are fixed when i shuffle another playlist and go back to the mix it will act as normal for a few hours.

Thanks for the clarification.

Since the issue is fixed for a bit after you delete and re-download the app, could you run a clean reinstall following this specific Guide. This is a more throughout process than the regular reinstallation. Make sure to remove all Spotify data, as described there, since corrupted data could be causing this issue.

if it isn’t clear when nothing is happening i am clicking on songs trying to get then to play. when the wrong song plays and when spotify crashes i am doing the same thing.

This doesn't look right, indeed. To dig deeper in this we'll also need to know if it happens with all mixes you have or this particular one only?

Could you also give it a shot using a different network? It seems you're on Wi-fi, if possible could you maybe try streaming using mobile data for a short bit?

somehow the glitch has fixed itself and everything is working perfectly fine again. i didn’t do anything to fix it, it just randomly started working again for no apparent reason

I’ve been getting this for over a year. Not just playlists, its if I try to play a song on an album or search for a song and play it, it then when play random **bleep** I didn’t ask for and refuses to play what I click on.

It funnily enough coincided when I stopped paying for premium, however it works fine on my PC and ps4, its just the iPhone app on two different iPhones that doesn’t work right.

The described experience is typical for a free account. There are certain limitations on the mobile app, which are not present on the desktop/console apps.
