Shuffle Play

I am using the premuim plan which gives me access to listening to music without shuffle being on, which has always worked great, but it seems ever since the Smart Shuffle feature (which I love the idea of) has been added the shuffle button has been broken. The problem is that I can't turn off shuffle mode, when I click the shuffle button now it turns off for a second and then shuffle mode comes right back on. This feels like a bug that has just come with the new update dealing with the shuffle button but if there is any troubleshooting please let me know as I would love to listen to my music off shuffle!

I am running spotify on an iPhone X running the latest software (IOS 15.5)

Spotify is up to date (Version 8.7.34)

I’m having the same issue, since the update that includes smart shuffle. It will actually show shuffle is “off” but still is in shuffle mode! I think this is a bug.

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

Just to make sure, is the playback on shuffle even when you tap on the green play button and the Shuffle is deactivated?

If so, we suggest running a clean reinstall to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. This one is more thorough than the usual one.

Also, it's a good idea to exclude the app from any Battery optimization software that might be active on your smartphone.

It seems that messing with the shuffle button next to the play button can get it to turn off but for me it is not 100% of the time, and if it is meant to be a feature that you can't turn off shuffle by the currently playing if the button at the top of your playlist is selected I think personally this is a very distasteful feature and not one that should stay! Anyways thank you for the help that does seem to get it to work!
