Does streaming a downloaded song whilst connected to wifi use any data/broadband?

Since Spotify is a streaming service, it needs a regular internet connection when set online to work properly. However, when you download your tracks on your device, you can activate the Offline mode to play the tracks from the stored cache, instead of using any data for streaming.
