Shuffling using the play button?

My Question or Issue

Say I have a playlist. I put it on shuffle mode. It USED to be the case that when I hit the "play" button -- it gave me a shuffled track, and when I hit the play button again, it gave me another shuffled track.

Now, however, for some reason, when I hit the play button, it just plays or pauses thec current song.

However, if I go to ANOTHER playlist and play a song, and then COME BACK... then when I hit play, I get another shuffled track.

What's going on here? I'd like it to shuffle whenever I the play button, like it used to. Is there a way to make that happen? Thanks.

I agree with this statement completely. The same thing has happened to me and I believe it to be an unnecessary update on the app which I can only hope gets reverted.

I have found this exact problem where even switching between devices has resulted in a new shuffle which lead to repeating tracks and lots of anger from me. Surely they could just change it back to how it was before the update.
