Hi there @blackykop,

Thank you for taking the time to post in the Community. We've moved your Idea from the Idea board to our Help board as we couldn't replicate the same behavior.

To start with, can you reinstall the app? We can also recommend that you remove cached data by following the steps provided here as this will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.

If the issue persists, can you provide us a screen shot or a screen recording so that we can have a closer look directly from your end?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Take care 🙂

Spotify on iPhone has a lifesaving (somewhat) option in it’s settings called “Volume level: Quiet” (Settings>Playback>Volume level>Loud/Normal/Quiet)

It changes the in App volume only of Spotify.

This function is super useful, as music tends to be very loud by default, and overpowers everything else on my iPad. I listen to lofi/calming music in the background, but even then it still means “either Spotify or anything else” without this feature.

Here is an example video that shows me studying japanese on iPad. Sadly i can barely hear the voiced audio-files from the flashcard-app, because of Spotify. But with the “Volume level: Quiet” feature, it would be much better.

language study on iPad with Spotify

My request/question:

Could you PLEASE copy+paste the feature from iOS into iPadOS? It should be rather easy, right?

im sorry for the late reply. I didn’t realize that the “Volume levels” are linked to the “audio normalization” tab. the volume levels only appear after you enable that field. because of that, i couldn’t find them.

So the problem is solved / was never this particular problem to begin with.

However, I would like to make the suggestion to enable the option to seperate “Volume levels (quiet/loud)” from “audio normalization”, as audio normalization distorts songs, aka adjusts volume levels within a song. So a loud orchestra of strings will be “normalized” to have similar volume as a serene, barely audible, quiet singing voice within the same song.)

I will probably open a thread on the idea board for that.
