Carplay nested playlists?

So this https://community.spotify.com/t5/Ongoing-Issues/Apple-Carplay-cannot-see-playlists-more-than-one-level-deep/idi-p/1839716 (from 2017) is still a problem in 2023. Spotify randomly plays music from ten playlists I have under a subfolder when I only want to access one of those playlists. I was excited to get a car with carplay so I wouldn't have to use my phone to choose music while driving, but my playlists are inaccessible if nested (and I have too many for them to not be under folders), which totally defeats the purpose. Am I missing something, or has this just not been addressed?
