App shows offline when in mobile data

Plan - family plan

Device - iPhone SE

Operating System - iOS 15.5

I can not play music when using mobile data because app shows message "You're offline. To play this, you'll need to go online first" even though app is online.

I have deleted and reinstalled the app, turned mobile data on and off, cleared the cache, restarted phone.

What else should I do to be able to play music on mobile data?

Thank you for sharing your issue with the Community!

This is an odd app behaviour indeed.

When you're saying that the app is online - are you referring to your mobile data being switched on or are your referring to the app's in-built offline mode setting being toggled off?

Does the app behaviour change when you switch to a Wi-Fi network or does it still show offline?

Let us know and we'll gladly take a look at how we can proceed from here on out 🙂

App work's fine when using wi-fi, when only in mobile data I get the message asking to go online. Other apps in my phone work fine when in mobile data.

By saying app is online I mean that the built-in offline mode setting is toggled off.

Thanks for the reply with the screenshots.

Most probably there is a setting to limit the ability of the Spotify app to use the mobile data on your iPhone. Could you check if that's the case? Here is a guide on how to find the setting on your phone.

It shows me always offline and even if it starts then after few seconds it again stops music…i also re-installed app and their is no further update but still i am facing the same issue.so,please try to solve it as early as possible

Hi. As I discovered if you have the VPN on that would interfere with Spotify. Try turning the VPN off if it's on and see if that solves that issue.

Hello I don’t know if this thread is still open but I’m have the same issue. I’ve tried everything you guys have suggested and nothing seems to work. My app works fine on WiFi but on cell data the song will stay stuck and not fully load
