Podcast app bug

My Question or Issue

Recently when I've selected a podcast episode from a certain show, the app has begun playing the most recently added episode instead of the episode I selected. Also, when I return to the episode list from the specific episode info page the list completely glitches out and places me at a random point on the episode list. this is very annoying and there's no way to fix it from my end.

Sorry to see this has happened to you!
Have you tried any troubleshooting so far? If not, I would clear the cached data to see if that would make a difference!
Restart your app afterwards.

In case that doesn't solve it, you can try a complete clean reinstall instead 🙂

In this case, we'd like to gather as much info as possible. Would you mind letting us know what troubleshooting you've tried so far? This'll help us avoid repeating steps.

We'd like to know if the issue persists with a different account as well. If a family member has a Spotify account, would you ask them to log in on your device to see if the app behaves the same way?

clearing my cached data worked temporarily but I have now had to do it multiple times over only a couple days. I did also do a clean reinstall which has not worked.

Can you please also check if the same happens with a different podcast or when using a different account? This will help us narrow down the possible cause of the issue.

Also, please let us know your exact OS version and Spotify version.

In my case if I'm watching a podcast that has video and turn off my Bluetooth without pousing the episode I can't play any other podcast with or without, only music, but the notification miniature shows the first podcast episode I clicked even if I'm playing a song, very odd, i have an S21 ultra

This is indeed odd behavior. Would you mind double-checking if perhaps you could replicate this behavior on a different mobile device? It'd be awesome if you could check. You can ask for the mobile device of a relative or a friend to open your account there and check.

On another note, does this happen with a specific podcast episode or does it happen no matter what podcast/episode you choose? If not sure, it'd be awesome if you could check. Please send us the exact Spotify version you’re running there.

Lastly, it'd be great if you sent us a short video recording of what's happening, so we can better visualize what you're mentioning. You can attach the video in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and make it public, so we can watch it.
