spotify keeps freezing on apple tv

Spotify app on APPLE TV in US.

for the past several weeks, spotify keeps freezing while playing in middle of a playlist. I have to force quit app and reopen it. I have tried restarting apple tv and also uninstalling spotify and reinstalling it. None of these has helped. I have had spotify on apple tv for over a year and never had problems before this. Something has changed and it is frustrating. Hoping there is a remedy out there.

First up, we suggest that you check if the firmware of the Apple TV has any pending updates.

If it's up to date, could you try with a different internet connection to see if the same happens?

There is no "firmware" updates on Apple TV, only software updates. I have this same problem and it's very annoying. I wonder if Apple does this on purpose to make us buy Apple music.

Did you have a chance to try it with a different internet connection? You can also try restarting your router and checking if that makes a difference.

On another note, can you log in with another account - such as a friend's or a family member's to see if the issue persists?

Lastly, would you mind sending us a video recording of this behavior? You can attach it in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and make it public, so we can visualize it.

We'll keep an eye out for your reply!

This **bleep** has been going on for years. I can not fix it and Spotify tech / customer support seems not interested in getting down to the bottom of it. They just keep spitting the same message. Works fine on my iPhones and tablets fine. Everything is up to date and I have tried everything that they have mentioned.

Yes. This keeps happening when it's playing an ad and it freezes.
