I've disliked this missing functionality for .. years. literally. 😉 If you create your own playlists it keeps it sorted by old to new meaning recently added songs get added at the end.

On Android and on the Desktop version it is different, here you can sort by different aspects. I got a few lists and naturally, you are more interested in the latest added hot stuff and less in the stuff from 3,4 years back so if you don't want to shuffle but just listen from newest to oldest in chronological order you might need to scrooooooooooll a long way if you have a big playlist.

A double tap to reverse the sorting / a drop down in the normal view - before the editing playlist view - with "sort by date / e.g. artist (might also be a nice filter) would be really only right. 🙂

Hello! How can I reverse sort my songs by title in the playlist ? I tap on title and it sorts alphabetically but when I tap on it again, it doesn’t do the reverse order. This is a problem I’m experiencing since I got an iPhone. It sorted by title in reverse with my Android! I’ve tried uninstalling then reinstalling, and that still doesn’t work.

Thanks for reaching out. Could you please provide us the following:

Is this on all devices or only on your iPhone? If you haven't tested on other devices, please do so. Try the webplayer too.
The exact Spotify Versions you use.
Has this worked on an iPhone prior to now or not?
Screenshots or a video of the behaviour

Hey I have the same problem that I can’t sort my playlist in reverse alphabetical order now that I switched to iPhone. I had no issues with it on android as you would just click sort by artist and then click it again and it would go to reverse alphabetical order.

Would you mind sending us a short screen recording of this behavior so we can take a closer look? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).

Additionally, sending us the exact make/model, operating system and Spotify version of your device would come in handy.

I believe the reverse-sorting should already be an option within the iOS app but it's missing for us as well.

Hello! Sorry it’s taken so long to reply but the problem persist. I can reverse the title order from A to Z so that it is from Z to A on my laptop and on my old Android phone but not my iPhone 14. My daughter can’t do it either. She has an iPhone 15 Pro. She said she could do it on her iPhone 7. My Spotify version is 8.9.44.362. I recently reinstalled it to ensure I have the latest version. Here are screenshots.
