Spotify offline error message from iPhone

Spotify keeps saying offline, check internet. This started with the first download of the app. Have done a restart, reinstall, clean reinstall,,iOS and app are updated). WiFi working for all other apps and search engines. Just this app, not working.

If you haven't already, can you try logging into another device using the same internet connection to see if you can replicate this behavior? It's worth checking if you are not using any VPN service that might cause unexpected behavior on your device.

You can also double-check if the Background App Refresh option is turned on by going to Settings > Spotify > Background App Refresh.
