Update Apple TV!

(Apple) tvOS is one of the best interfaces to use on your TV. And luckily Spotify also has an app available for this platform. But the last few years it has really been lacking behind.

While most modern TV OS’ have been receiving great updates and all the new features that Spotify has to offer. The Apple TV app hasn’t received any of it, same goes for the new design language that Spotify has been using. This isn’t showing in the Apple TV app yet. I think this is such a shame, it creates a lack of consistency. It makes it all the more interesting for Apple users to switch to Apple Music.

So please give the Apple TV app some well deserved love and don’t let it fall behind again.

We need:

• Lyrics

• The new design

• Music Videos (and please bring these to everyone, I have been dying to get them but somehow my account doesn’t have it)

You can support the idea about lyrics on Apple TV here by adding your vote and clicking on subscribe in the three-dots menu at the top right corner next to the title to make sure you stay up-to-date with any relevant updates about this.

For the other suggestions, you can follow these steps to create a new idea, then users can add their votes in the Community. The higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it's to be implemented.

Hi @MateusM,

I already voted on that idea. It’s quite an old one now dating back to 2021. Spotify said they have taken note of the demand for the issue but haven’t done anything so far to resolve the issue. Therefore it seems opening up a new idea about it is necessary to once again grab their attention. It’s a shame they release new features and a new style but don’t implement it across the e board. It shows a lack of consistency and care.

I know I’m late cause I just got an Apple TV but I had no idea Spotify would be that bad.I’m so disappointed in Spotify. They keep saying “we’re working on it” but it’s been years, hello? I guess they despise Apple.

Literally I bought an Apple TV today and i am TERRIBLY disappointed of the Spotify app. As Ive had Spotify for many years now i just cant go to any other app but like pls update it cuz this is showing how careless Spotify is…

I know right? Like i was excited and all but i was not prepared for this. And Spotify doesn’t seem to care about it. Switching from an android tv to Apple TV feels like a downgrade, in terms of music, because of Spotify. Other apps are good tho. Really disappointing as it’s one of the best tv boxes out there, if not the best.

Spotify it’s getting ridiculous, prices increase and what do we get… nothing! Not even the bare minimum. You are leaving Apple TV users behind. Since its launch about 35 million Apple TVs have been sold in the US alone. That doesn’t include the hundreds of millions worldwide. It’s one of the most popular smart-tv solutions even in an age where most TVs already have smart features. Please give us what we pay for… a full Spotify experience across all devices!

Hi, why does the post show as “Solved! Solution accepted”? I never accepted it. You literally just linked to another old posts about the same problem and Spotify is yet to do anything about it. So consider it not solved until Spotify finally uses the big amount of money they get from us to at least give us an up to date app experience on all devices (and that includes Apple TV)!

Spotify is just pathetic in their answer to this question... They disappointed me years ago so I moved to Apple Music that works and sounds better. Maybe I will pay for Premium if they update Apple TV app.

My Question or Issue

Another unfinished update has been released for the Spotify- for the Spotify-Apple TV app.I've completely lost patience with releasing an unfinished version. While you can now add songs to your favorites again in the app, you can't access the artist pages at all! It keeps showing an error message. Surely it must be possible to release a version where everything works as it used to. You should be able to click on the artist's name anywhere to access their page, and there you should also be able to access their discography, their top 10 songs, your own favorite songs by that artist, and their music videos. You should actually finish something first, and then release a new version of the app – that's the right way to do it.
