My Question or Issue

Hello, I have been experiencing an ongoing issue with the Spotify app on my iPhone for probably a year, and I cannot find a solution.

The music volume lowers at random times (mainly when I double-tap the screen to open the phone, but it also occurs when the phone is open). The volume bar stays the same, so I physically cannot turn it up if it is at the highest volume. This only occurs with Spotify, no other apps that play sounds. I have deleted the Spotify app and cleared the cache, disabled all noise regulation settings in the iOS settings, disabled Face ID Attention Awareness Features, and disabled Audio Nominalization, Equalizer, and Devices Lock Screen on the Spotify App.

I have seen threads here regarding the same issue and have tried every method they suggested, but nothing has worked so far. This is very annoying and inconvenient. Please help!

Sorry to find out this has been happening!

I can see that you have gone over all the steps we would normally propose in such a situation. I assume you have also tried a complete clean reinstall of the app as well, but if you haven't - it's worth a shot 🙂

Don't know since when you've been using the newest iOS 18, but considering that you're saying the issue has been around for a year, I presume the audio drops have been happening with other iOS versions as well -

With these in mind, what I'd suggest (if you haven't already done so) is reaching out to the Apple support folks to ask them if there's any other configuration setting that may be impacting the Spotify app.
