Widgets not working

Hello! So I am not able to add the Spotify widget to my phone anymore. It kept glitching out and then now it’s not even an option and I cannot even find Spotify in the widget options. I use it all the time so it is very frustrating that I can’t open Spotify that way.

Thanks for getting in touch about this and welcome to the Community.

First up, it's well worth running a clean reinstall of the app to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. Additionally, could you check if the OS of your device is up to date?

If the clean reinstall doesn't do the trick, would you mind sending us a short screen recording of the issue happening so we can take a closer look? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).

We'll be waiting for your reply.

I also am having the same issue. I tried to delete and reinstall the app, but the widget won't show up as an option any more. Every other is available except for Spotify.

Hi there @fw10,

Thanks for your reply in this thread.

Are you also using a iPhone? Take into account that you need to have iOS 16 or above to be able to add the Widget. If you do, make sure your OS is up-to-date, then re-start your device and follow these steps:

Long press anywhere on your lock screen.
Tap Customize, then Lock Screen.
Tap on the widget section below the clock.
Tap Spotify, and then select the widget.

If that doesn't do the trick, we recommend performing a clean reinstall, like @Eni suggested in our previous reply.
